Project Mayhem in Atlanta

First of all I'd like to thank, on behalf of the entire team, all of our sponsers and mentors for helping and supporting us throughout the entire year.
Without you, we would've not been able to get as far as we have. Anyways, Atlanta was a great experience for the team. Eight members from the team went down with Woodlawn and
members from Liberty. The whole competition was setup into four divisions, we were placed in Newton. Out of 88 teams, we finished in 80th place going 1-6. Not as good as we hoped, but
we learned a whole deal and met some very important people (including the one and only Dean Kamen). We are now ready to prepare for next year and only grow in strength and numbers as this year
has turned out to be a huge success! Thanks again to everyone.
On the side, Vlad and myself talked recently on WYPR and talked about the year. If you're interested in listening, go to the forums and click the link Vlad has posted under Announcements.
Success at the Regionals
Posted 3/25/09 by Joe
After three long days at the competition, Project Mayhem came out on top! After six qualification matches, the team only lost once! That's right, Project Mayhem the ROOKIE team went 5-1 against other FIRST teams throughout the area! Over 55 teams participated at the event, but only three could claim the title of champions. Being a team captain in the championship, Project Mayhem chose team's 75 (RoboRaiders) and 2166 (SeaCompany) to assist them in competing against the other best teams. Winning in the Quarter-finals, Project Mayhem lost 1-2 against a very tough combination of teams. At the end of the day however, Project Mayhem was awarded two rookie medals; Rookie Highest Seed award, Rookie All-star award. This has qualified us for the Championship in Atlanta and I am sure we as a team will go down there and give it our best! Congrats to Woodlawn for winning and mentoring us throughout the entire year!
Project Mayhem at the Chesapeake Regionals

For the next three days, Project Mayhem will particpate in the regional FIRST competition in Annapolis, Maryland. We will be finishing and improving our robot, testing it in trial rounds, and then play our best. This years competition, Lunacy, is one of the most unique events that FIRST has ever hosted. Team members actually throw balls into each robot, gaining points by scoring balls in other teams robots. This is the first real robot-human based game that FIRST has ever created, and I am eager to see how other teams play. Good luck to everyone!
Playday at Washington D.C.
Posted 2/08/09 by Joe
For the past six weeks, Project Mayhem has put much time and effort into building and programming our FIRST robot. All our time and effort will be seen in action on Saturday Feburary the 14th. Playday gives each team the opportunity to test out and theorycraft each of there robots in this years game, Lunacy. Vlad has gathered several engineers to assist us in these last hectic days in the final phases of the building stage of this part of the competition. We'd also like to thank Woodlawn High School for helping us to make everything possible. Without them, we would have not even imagined participating in FIRST or even Vex.
News regarding Vex Nationals

At the moment, Mr. Zienta is figuring out totals for the entire trip to and from Dallas, Texas in April. If we can
raise some extra money, we shouldn't have any problems, but if there should be any issues with money, we may not head out to Dallas.
The vex bot however is ready to go, with a few programming issues, and will be tested March 14th at Westministers scrimmage. Make sure to get more information
on that event if you havent'd done so already.
